KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Student investors outperformed Wall Street for the Tennessee Valley Authority in 2007, beating the Standard & Poor's 500 index for the seventh time in nine years and earning more than $900,000 for the nation's largest public utility.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Sweeping legislation that includes an across-the-board reduction in the cumulative grade point average needed to maintain a lottery-funded scholarship passed the House on Thursday. The measure sponsored by Education Chairman Les Winningham, a Huntsville Democrat, was approved 92-1.
On Wednesday, April 30, the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Alumni Relations will host the Grand Finale Party for all seniors in the class of 2008. The event will start at 12:30 p.m. in the quad behind Crisp Hall. There will be a luncheon for all graduating seniors, faculty, and staff.
