Beatles cover band 'The Return" will be performing Tuesday night bringing the classic sound of The Beatles to the streets of Martin. They're just one of the many acts coming to the Soybean Festival.

The Annual Tennessee Soybean Festival returns bringing music, food and family oriented competitions for eight straight days starting on Saturday, Aug. 30.

The Soybean Festival will be featuring a variety of musical performances throughout the week, immediately following the parade on Tuesday, Sep. 2nd with The Return, known as the "most authentic Beatles tribute band around."

The musical performances will continue with the Daniel Doss Band, a Christian music group, and country/rock fusion artist Corey Smith each performing at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:00 p.m. Thursday respectively.

As usual, the majority of musical performances occur on the weekend, beginning with Voodoo Village performing at the Opera House on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and with The Peacemakers following at 7:30 p.m. on the downtown stage. After The Peacemaker's performance, The Marshall Tucker Band will perform at 9:00 p.m. as Friday night's headlining act. Friday's concerts will coincide with the street fair/carnival and 15th Annual Chicken Crazy/Hog Wild barbecue cook-off.

Saturday night will feature island themed party band Margarita Beach, performing laid-back Caribbean themed tunes at the Opera House at 5 p.m., then will be followed by another Peacemakers performance on the downtown stage at 7:30 p.m.

The headlining act on Saturday will be country act Lonestar, a group that has written nine singles to reach #1 on the Billboard country music charts. Lonestar's anticipated performance will be at 9:00 p.m. on the downtown stage immediately following The Peacemakers.

Once again, these performances will coincide with the barbecue cook-off.

Last year's Parking-lot-Apalooza, a concert showcasing up-and-coming local acts, will also be returning although it will occur on Saturday, September the 6th instead of on the date listed in the original newsletter. The Parking-lot-Apalooza will begin at 12:30 p.m. at BDX Coffeehouse and will feature both indoor and outdoor acts. A full list of artists for the local event will soon be announced.
