This country has elected its 44th President and I believe for more legitimate causes than some people seem to believe.
People that voted in favor of Pro-Choice and Pro- Gay Rights didn't vote this way because it was "cool". Nor do I think that just because people are first time voters meant they went in "blindly".
Sure, while "the other group" voted for him because he was black, doesn't mean they all did.
When it came down to the vote on Pro- Choice and Pro-Gay Rights, people voted with it because they believe that these people deserve rights just as much as everyone else. It's a little thing I like to call "Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness".
Saying that a vote for Pro-Choice and Pro-Gay Rights is against the church is a weak argument (Ever heard of Separation of Church and State?). Just because your moral standing doesn't agree with everyone else's, does that mean that you should take away his or her rights?
On the other hand, not all Christians hold the same moral standing as the next one. So, to claim that this is a move against the church is overall trivial. Crying out "Abomination!" isn't a wise thing to do either, because ALL sins are an abomination to God, this includes lying.
That being said, McCain didn't deserve office either. He lied about many things very blatantly (Obama's Tax Policies, his voting over 90% of the time with Bush, etc.)
It's not our right to judge though, for we have all sinned (Look it up in your Bible). Also, the concern of Gay Marriage being taught in schools doesn't make much sense.
In my entire lifespan I have been in school, not once do I recall being taught about marriage, but I have in the church.
This election was far from a "travesty", just look at how the world broke out into cheer when Obama won. This might be the best thing to happen to America and we just don't realize it yet.
