In 2010, Dierks Bentley released his bluegrass album Up On the Ridge that gave him an evident boost of confidence while preparing for his newest album Home released earlier this year.
On the album Home, Bentley's seventh studio album, he returns to the contemporary side of country music, much like his original hits Feel That Fire and Sideways. The Phoenix, Arizona native is no stranger to the Top of the charts. However, his previous album Up On the Ridge had raving reviews but in reality produced no number one hits.
Home is already generating number ones hits with songs like Am I the Only One and Tip It On Back, which are both songs about having fun and partying with friends. The element that separates Dierks Bentley from his country music friends and rivals is his ability to write love songs. The sensual song Breathe You In and the broken romance song In My Head are both songs about love and relationships, aspects that fans find irresistible in the sweeter side of Dierks Bentley's songs.
Diamonds Make Babies, another song on Bentley's new album, spices things up a bit with fun and up beat rhymes. Bentley had a few co-writers on Diamonds Make Babies including Jim Beavers, Chris Stapleton and Lee Thomas Miller. The song has a really good sense of humor about it.
Home has a large variety of songs that cater to the needs of his entire fan base. The songs range to playful partying songs to heart wrenching loves song and finally songs about his family life and the "woods."
Not all the songs on the new album are receiving as much credit. For instance The Woods, a song about leaving it all behind and getting out in the wilderness isn't receiving as much positive attention as the other songs on Bentley's new album. This song certainly won't go down in history as a number one hit.
There is also a duet with Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild. Bentley paired with Fairchild on When You Gonna Come Around to create a beautiful bluesy feel and will be one that definitely might top the charts. The song Heart Of a Lonely Girl features bluegrass players like Same Bush and Tim O'Brien. Also on the album, Bentley's three-year-old daughter, Evie makes her singing debut on the album Home singing the final chorus in the song Thinking Of You.
