The University of Mississippi Faculty Woodwind Quintet will present a recital as guests of the UTM Department of Music. The concert will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Martin.

The concert is free and open to the public and will feature works for winds by American composers Samuel Barber and George Rochberg, as well as a Mozart piano quartet arranged for winds by Robert G. Patterson, a Memphis-based composer who also plays horn in the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

“We are excited to travel to Martin to present these pieces,” said Michael Rowlett, a clarinet player in the quintet.  “We’ve played several of Robert Patterson’s compositions and arrangements before, and they have been very well received by our audiences. The rest of the program is very colorful, including “Summer Music” by Samuel Barber, one of the masterworks of the woodwind quintet repertoire.”

Trinity Presbyterian Church is located at 145 Hannings Lane.
