If you had not planned on going to see “Pitch Perfect,” perhaps you should change your plans.
It is by far one of the most entertaining and hilarious movies I have seen in quite some time.
In my opinion, it is rare to find a movie that leaves you laughing for almost the entire time, however, this one did. My stomach was sore when I left from laughing so hard for so long.
The character, Fat Amy, played by Rebel Wilson, was definitely the highlight of the movie. From her witty comments to her sarcastic attitude, she is without a doubt the funniest character in the movie.
I apologize upfront if you have not seen the movie, but I’d like to give an example of her witty comments. At one point in the movie, she replies to another character that said he thought they should kiss by saying “Sometimes, I think I can do crystal meth, but then I think, ‘Hmm better not.’” It absolutely completed my life, kind of.
I loved the musical aspect of the movie as well. Being someone who grew up singing and performing, I definitely loved the plot being set around the two main groups, the Barden Bellas and the Treble Makers.
Aubrey, the leader of the Barden Bellas and played by Anna Camp, was the rude, over-bearing character of the movie. Camp played the part well. She was perfectly intolerable for the majority of the movie, yet hilarious at the same time.
Of course, I can’t talk about this movie without mentioning the love connection between the two main characters. Against the rules of the Barden Bellas, Beca, played by Anna Kendrick, begins to hangout and develop a relationship with Treble Makers member, Jesse, played by Skylar Astin. Beca and Jesse are first seen together at the beginning of the film, prior to actually meeting each other. Jesse is seen singing out the car window at Beca.
At this point, I thought to myself, “Wow, I really hope there is more to them than just this.” The two meet again after being inducted into their respective musical groups. Beca and Jesse end up working together at their campus radio station and become very close.
I hate to give away the entirety of the film, so I will conclude by saying; I earnestly suggest you go see this movie. It is highly entertaining and by far one of the funniest movies I have seen in a very long time.
