Each year, the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences holds a "Welcome Back" cookout at the North end zone of Hardy Graham Stadium before the first home football game of the season. For CAAS students, entry was free, and for all other students, a ticket was $5.

At the cookout, CAAS gave out various prizes, from T-shirts to hats to gift cards, and this year even a Nexus Tablet that was won by senior Agriculture major Daniel Branum. The students gathered and were provided a meal by Sodexo and enjoyed the company of each other, as well as their teachers.

There was a corn hole tournament where the winners received a cash prize, and then there were the drawings for prizes.
