On Tuesday, March 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., faculty and staff will have an opportunity to hear about and discuss the use of clickers in the classroom.
Clickers are “Audience Response Devices,” which enable students to participate in class without fear of ‘standing out’ and provide faculty with an indication of student understanding of the content. Professors hope that clicker use in the classroom leads to active student learning, getting students to participate in learning and engage.
The workshops on March 26 will feature a representative from Turning Technologies, Kevin Pridemore, and three UTM faculty who will demonstrate how they use clickers. The workshops will be held at the Instructional Technology Center in 248 Paul Meek Library. Free lunch will be provided by Turning Technologies.
If you plan to come, contact Harriette Spiegel at hspiegel@utm.edu or 731-881-3124.
