UTM Student Health and Counseling Services will offer health fair

On Tuesday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., the UTM Student Health and Counseling Services will host a Wellness Fair in the UC ballroom for UTM students, faculty and staff. There will be over 35 booths representing some of the health care agencies from our area as well as UTM student organizations.
Each booth will showcase their services and/or philanthropies. Some of these agencies include: The Sideline, Volunteer Community Hospital, Moore Dental Clinic, Baptist Memorial Hospital of Union City, Martin Specialty Clinic, Jackson Madison County Regional Health Department, Van's Pharmacy, Dr. Francs Bynum (optometrist), The American Cancer Society, Regions Bank and the West Tennessee Hearing and Speech Clinic.
UTM student groups include: Alpha Omicron Pi, the Vet Science club, the Student Nurses Association, the S.H.A.P.E club, Phi Chi Theta Business Fraternity and Scott Pun's Health and Performance class.
These agencies/organizations will be providing health care information and /or performing wellness screenings. Free screenings will include: blood pressure, blood lipid and glucose levels (no fasting necessary) body mass index and bone density. Flu shots will also be available and the cost will be $25 with cash or check only and no insurance or Skyhawk cards being accepted.
Many door prizes will be given away to lucky participants. So, come out and participate in the free UTM Wellness Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 6. For additional information, check out the UTM Student Health and Counseling website.
