Every set had the hearts of the fans racing to the end, but with a score of 16 to 14, the Skyhawks Volleyball team killed it again against the Belmont Bruins.

By the end, fans of both teams were on the edge of their seat. No one could say which way it would go. Some may have thought after the second set, with our team down two to nothing, that it was over for us. However, on the third set, they had a comeback of 29-27. Neither team would let it go easy. Each set was closer than the last and when the lady Skyhawks won the fourth set with 25-19 and sent us into overtime, fans were holding their breath.

At the game, each player gave her all, and it showed. Each set was neck and neck until the end. In the fifth set, it was 14-14 when a bad server gave UTM 15 points. With only one more point needed, Emily Keaton, #3, severed up the final nail in Belmont’s coffin. It was a great game, and both teams worked hard, causing the Skyhawks to soar to victory.

This is the sixth win this season for the UTM team, and the next game will be on Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
