Point guard Delrico Lane suspended from basketball team

This is a developing story. Senior point guard Delrico Lane has been suspended from the Skyhawks basketball team after his arrest from July 17, incident involving a sexual assault.Information from WCMT states that the alleged incident happened at an apartment on Baker Road July 17.


According to WCMT the affidavit says Lane held a woman down while a co-defendant, Christian Carpenter, kissed the woman's breast and touched her genitals with a walking cane.


Lane was questioned by police on Tuesday, Aug. 24, and admitted to holding the woman down and biting her on the neck during the incident. Lane was charged with one count of aggravated sexual battery and released from the Weakley County Jail on his own recognizance pending a preliminary hearing September 8th.
